EDID Extended Display Identification Data
Extended Display Identification Data is a VESA standard data format that contains basic information about a monitor and its capabilities, including vendor information, maximum image size, color characteristics, factory preset timings, frequency range limits, and character strings for the monitor name and serial number. In layman's terms: if one day you added some unknown nonstandard source equipment, you don't have to worry about the compatibility of the Matrix. This function allows Matrix to automatically read your input device’s parameters, and then tell sink the input device’s parameters, then output will automatically choose the suitable input parameters to the output. This functionality is achieved through the Matrix control software and DIP switch.
